TWITTER REVERSES ITS DECISION AFTER SAYING RAPE THREATS AREN'T AGAINST ITS "SAFETY POLICIES"
Twitter originally declined to block a tweet that advocated for the rape of Governor Ron DeSantis' Rapid Response Director Christina Pushaw.
Thursday evening, a tweet from the Twitter account @Beegee133 made its way on to Twitter. The tweet was sent to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ Rapid Response Director Christina Pushaw. The tweet said, “if one person deserves every horrible thing that is coming her way especially rape its Christina.”
Pushaw reposted the threat by writing, “Violent Democrat of the day”.
After seeing the tweet, I like many reported it to Twitter. Late yesterday evening, I received a response for my report from Twitter. The social media platform claimed the rape threat did not violate its “safety policies”.
This email was obviously alarming. I reached out to Twitter this morning for a response. When I messaged them, the rape threat tweet was still on Twitter. Moments later, it was removed. Twitter has not responded to my request for comment.
That sure sounds like the “wishing harm on someone” that is in Twitter’s list of posts that are against their policy.
Disgusting of Tweaker as it is a disgusting platform to say for even a nano-section, wishing for anyone to be raped, does not violate policy. Says everything about them and more.
